Thy Vo is an Atlanta-based artist specializing in 2D animation and story art. She loves visual storytelling and every element that goes into it including character design, compositing, and editing. In her own time, she enjoys swimming, watching video game speedruns, and reading comics. Her favorite genre of storytelling revolves around feel-good settings with a twisted or morbid ending. Thy developed the concept that would become Skip after finishing the Greed Island arc of Hunter x Hunter and wanted to depict that feeling of being in a fantasy role playing game. Overall, Thy wanted the film to be a fun, nostalgia project that her and her peers could work on. Her roles include director, storyboard artist, supervising animator, production manager, and compositor.
Sydney Seekford a business and concept developer, with a focus on Japanese and J-inspired IPs. Her work is based in whatever city she happens to be in at the time, which is convenient, since she loves to travel! When not expanding global markets, Sydney dabbles in photography and fashion, and hikes with her frenchie, Beandip. Sydney was inspired to flesh out the original concept for Skip into a film with a wide audience and unique style. "I'm not a gamer, but the concept seemed like it could be taken in a really fun direction that we haven't seen a lot before-so of course I jumped on!" As art director and co-director for Skip, she drafted the first storyboard, and managed the overall look and feel of the film, characters and animation from preproduction to post.
Ryan Imm is a Korean-Canadian animator that calls Atlanta, GA home. Ryan enjoys fun ways to improve his hand-eye coordination: drawing, sports, and video games. As a lifelong Nintendo fan, he was eager to draw from his nostalgic gaming experiences to make the film feel like an animated video game. Much like the games he enjoys, Ryan cares first and foremost about entertaining. As a student, Ryan became well known for his attention to detail and slick drawing style, so the team was quick to snap him up to oversee cleanup and animation. Ryan is responsible for co-directing, storyboarding, and animating on the film.
